BBC Radio 4 are launching a dramatisation of all of John le Carré's novels featuring the elusive spymaster George Smiley starting with CALL FOR THE DEAD which goes on air on May 23rd. Smiley will be played by Simon Russell Beale. John le Carré says: "Simon Russell Beale is unique. No living actor can match his understanding of language, or his interpretation of character. He will make a superb Smiley, and I feel deeply honoured."
